Objectives For Creating Videos Raising the Barr Weekly Memo: Issue No. 85

Raising the Barr is a weekly memo, which is always pithy, powerful and succinct. It focuses on innovative ideas by maximizing your life and business while leveraging strategy, content, technology and the web, to help you transform the success.

This week’s reflection point: Videos are a powerful tool to communicate your ideas and messages to your current and future clients. I see videos as one of the critical paths to achieve and rule your thought leadership space. Here are the top objectives (results) I suggest you consider achieving when creating your videos:

  1. Create a variety of short videos that will appear on various important pages of your web site and blog. For example, why not have a short 2 minute video on your executive coaching page? This video will identify the key challenges executives face, how you help them resolve such challenges, the main impact your executive clients have seen by virtue of working with you, and then invite them to contact you. If it is a product page, why not have a short video suggesting creative ideas of how you clients use the product to create greater success?
  2. Create additional videos that will complement your newsletters and blog posts. If you have a monthly newsletter, why not include a featured video that adds more value to the newsletter and for your clients? The same applies to your blog, which means, including videos to add more interesting content.
  3. Create a set of videos that would produce an online experience or an online workshop (I refer to it as a video book) that is available for sale or shared with your clients as additional value.
  4. Use videos to promote your product pages, “squeeze pages” whose objective is to get the visitor’s name and email address in return for additional value such as an eBook or a set of videos.
  5. Setup a professional YouTube channel that features your videos.

There is so much you can do with videos to expand your reach and better communicate your value to your clients. If you have not done so yet, I encourage you to get started. If you have started, it’s time to Raise The Barr.
