This week’s reflection point: I’ve been saying for years that when it comes to my business the lines of demarcation between work and pleasure are quite blurry. I love my work because it is fun and enjoyable and doesn’t seem like work at all. I realize that some of my close colleagues and my spouse may say I am a workaholic. Let me reassure you that I am passionate about what I do, but also make time to travel, listen to music, read, watch wonderful shows and movies, spend time with my family and friends, and embrace life. This is a common trait among some of the most successful individuals I meet and work with.
Like marriage, the key to achieving great success in your business is simply falling in love with it. Because when you do you:
- Look forward to spending quality time with it
- Think about it often
- Sadden with its failures
- Rejoice in its successes
- Attract great community
- Hope it lasts forever
This week’s tip: Ask yourself if you are passionate about your business. If the answer is yes, think about what it would take to sustain it. If the answer is no, determine how to rekindle the love.
