In today’s digital age, we are inundated with content. From articles and YouTube videos to social media posts, the volume can be overwhelming. But what if you could absorb this information at the speed of light? That’s where ChatGPT comes in.

Transforming Content Consumption with ChatGPT

Did you know ChatGPT can summarize lengthy content for you? This includes text extracted from YouTube videos. Here’s a quick guide on how to utilize this feature:

• Extracting YouTube Transcripts:
  • Select a video on YouTube.
  • Open the video description.
  • Click on “Show transcript”.
  • Disable timestamps with the 3-dot menu.
  • Copy the text and paste it into a Word document.
    

For other types of text, the process is straightforward: copy the content you wish to summarize and paste it into a Word document. This allows you to prepare the text for ChatGPT’s processing.

Optimizing for ChatGPT’s Limitations

ChatGPT currently processes up to 4,000 characters at a time. To work around this, divide your document into manageable sections, I typically use each Word page as a section. Since, at times, there may be issues copying and pasting directly from Word into ChatGPT, here’s a helpful workaround: copy one Word page at a time into a note-taking app like Notes and then copy and paste from Notes into ChatGPT. This method solves that issue.

Here’s an example prompt for ChatGPT:

“I’m providing an article in five sections, entering each one separately. Please review each and, after the fifth section, summarize the article. There is no need to summarize each section as I enter it. I would like you to provide me the essence and key bullet points for a quick understanding only after all sections have been entered.”
