Pragmatic Technologies for Life and Business Success®
In recent conversations with some of my clients and prospective clients, they shared with me that their business has flat-lined. Some have even said that their business has taken a free fall dive.
This is both disheartening and concerning and made me probe deeper as to the reasons for such a disastrous situation. My conclusion is that it boils down to 7 myths that may have contributed to the situation and are most likely responsible for its continuation.
Myth #1: Prior success is sure to bring the next success – It does demonstrate that you were successful in the past but also suggests that it now requires new thinking and new mindset to generate new success. What new thinking and behaviors have you introduced to your life?
Myth #2: I can do it alone – There is a reason why the best in the world surround themselves with outstanding experts to help them elevate their game. Finding the right support and especially when times are tougher it is crucial to get you out of this quandary. Who have you surrounded yourself with to get you back on track?
Myth #3: I have the needed energy – As I have personally learned, to keep my game at its best, requires great energy. That means nutrition, exercise, relaxation and proper physical and mental stimulation. What are you doing to keep your energy at its optimum condition?
Myth #4: I am still passionate about my business – Are you really? This is a hard one to swallow but unless you are passionate about what you do and the value you provide, success will be hard and possibly impossible to achieve. What are you passionate about that provides great value to your clients?
Myth #5: It’s about working smarter – Although there is truth to this, I would challenge you that success requires work. Of course, you want to do it smartly but you have to put in the work to get the results. The good news is that when you are passionate about what it is that you do, it does not feel like work but your life’s purpose! Are you doing what it takes to be successful?
Myth # 6: It’s the economy – Do not resort to finding faults with external things. It’s your marketing initiatives that are directly linked to your results. Are you blaming others for your situation and what is your marketing roadmap?
Myth #7: I have the right mindset – You would probably agree with me that the right mindset would have generated different and consistent results. I’d urge you to change your mindset and fierce commitment to execution. What is your current mindset and where does it need to be?
Let me conclude by asking you these three questions:
